Maintenance
Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Zanussi Refrigerator.
Safety Precautions
Always retain the instruction book for future reference and ensure it is passed on to the new owner if the appliance is sold or transferred. Never attempt to repair the machine yourself; always contact an authorized engineer and use genuine spare parts.
Internal Cleaning
Clean the interior and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5ml to 0.5 litre of water). Rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid using detergents, abrasive powders, or highly perfumed cleaning products as they may damage the surface and leave a strong smell.
External Cleaning
To maintain the exterior, ensure the appliance is switched off before cleaning. Dust the condenser and compressor at the back of the appliance with a brush or vacuum cleaner once or twice a year to maintain performance and efficiency.
Defrosting
For complete defrosting, turn the thermostat dial to the 'OFF' position or disconnect from the mains, remove food and store in a cool, dry place. Clean and dry thoroughly before reconnecting to the mains. Replace the food after letting the appliance run for at least half an hour.
Energy Saving Tips
Locate the appliance in a cool, well-ventilated room away from heat sources. Avoid frequent door opening and ensure the door closes properly. Store food in airtight packages and allow warm food to cool before placing in the fridge.
